We talk about the root of all good relationship being the result of many different things, including compassion, honesty and trust, however today I want to look at three different types of relationships we all deal with and my experience of how they have impacted my life in the last week.
Events
Where people gather, the focus tends to revolve round the purpose of the event itself and our behaviours reflect that. Let me give you an example.
Last week I was at the funeral of a friend who passed at the very young age of 49. He confidently brought joy and laughter into the world as he travelled through it and made many friends on his journey. I felt a deep honour to be part of a group of wonderful people who were given the responsibility of giving him a great send of, which of course we did.
People
On a separate occasion, I had a conversation with a French gentleman. I use the term conversation very loosely as his first words were, “My English is not very good.” Sadly my French is not so good either so after much laughter and effort on both sides, the struggle was rewarded when we resorted to google translator and both understood each other.
You
Relationships are important however none more so than the one I have with myself, usually the one that gets least attention however it has become my focus this week.
Two questions (make sure you are at the mirror):
“When I look in the mirror, who am I looking at?”
“Who is looking back at me?”
So far I have been intrigued with my own responses, so intrigued that I thought I would share my questions with you – as you may wish to join me on my journey too?
