As we awaken following the aftermath of the Christmas festivities, I find it the perfect time for reflection, don’t you, a time for appreciating the good times with family and friends, whilst also sparing a thought for the ones that could not be at home for Christmas this year, who were working or even working away.
I popped into Tesco for petrol late on the night before Christmas Eve and said to the cashier, almost finished? He said “yes” and then quite excitedly, “and that’s me off for Christmas” I replied, “Great, how long are you off for?” “Until Boxing Day” was his reply, only a couple of days but he was happy with that.
I know we are all creatures of habit, however at holiday time I find it great fun just watching what is going on, from the excitement of the kids with new toys, jammies and sweets, to the elders who just love the get togethers, everyone in their own worlds sharing the same place and time together.
I hope you were one of the lucky ones, you had gifts to open, food on the table and laughter in the air and in the midst of the chaos, take some time to reflect, to enjoy and to look forward to your hopes, dreams and plans for next year.
Is it really all over, of course not, it’s really just beginning
Cheers – and I look forward to seeing you on the other side!
Is it really all over?
